There's nothing like hot soup on a cold day! Luckily this cafe is accessible to people who use wheelchairs, scooters, and walkers/rollators. It is also of course welcoming to bipeds.
Unfortunately, many places remain inaccessible to people with disabilities. Able-bodied people wonder how handicapped friends and family can visit their homes. People with disabilities wonder if a business has steps to its doorway; or if a restaurant has good sound insulation--key for hearing-challenged customers. Many questions come up!
This website was created in order to share some examples of tools, strategies, and resources for accessibility and mobility. Like accessibility, it is a work in progress. Like mobility, it is fueled by both the joys and frustrations of being (or not being) able to get around. Onward!

This is a non-commercial website created to share information. No recommendations are made for individuals with any particular diagnosis. Everyone has their own unique capabilities. The photographs were taken spontaneously over a period of 5 years, by several people. Additional pictures (screen-shots from websites) were added for clarity of image. Those images have been credited to their corresponding websites, but no advertising fees have been collected. The information on this website represents some of the many topics that come up daily for people who live with physical challenges. This information does not constitute a comprehensive study of the topic. More accessibility tools are hopefully still being invented!
Website online since 10/2018. Updated several times since then, most recently: 2025.
